[Ordinary Man . . . Extraordinary God ] July 25, 2008 07:06
Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

I was out walking the other night on what is called the Rail Trail.  It is a former rail line that has been asphalted over to make a nice place for people to walk, run, bike, rollerblade, and any other form of non – motorized transportation.  It is a beautiful place to walk with all the trees and wooded land that it runs through.  For me, it is becoming a place to go and let out the hurt and pain of this world.  It is becoming a place for me to walk with God.

[Lessons from the Bog ] July 16, 2008 23:05

There are two major factors in the creation of a bog.  The first is the lack of a moving source of water.  The other is having someplace for the water that does accumulate through run off and rain to go.  In a word or two a bog has poor drainage.  Couple that with the sphagnum moss sponge that floats on top of the bog and you have yourself one beautiful bog.

The process is rather simple and natural.  A pond or small lake is devoid of a source of moving water and becomes stagnate.  Decomposing plant matter begins to suspend in the water and then to settle on the bottom of the water.  Sphagnum moss begins to creep inward from the shoreline until the water is completely overwhelmed.  In time, the once living lake surrenders to terrestrialization.

And He said, “Who told you that you were naked?  Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” Genesis 3:11 (NASB)

There stood Adam and Eve.  Naked and hiding.  Their covering of fig leaves and hiding in the bushes could not keep them from the discovery of the Almighty Creator.  He came to them as usual and found them not at the meeting place.  Though God knew what had happened and where they were, He called to them and asked where they were.  The game was up.  Adam and Eve knew they were doomed.

99.5 % of the difficulties which occur in the church are a result of people who sin (the other .5% is caused by computers and mechanical failures).
