I went reeling this evening.  To call it “fishing” would imply that I knew what I was doing.  I went primarily to meet God and to talk with Him.  Basically, I needed to get square with God about lighting my own torch and trying to make it through the darkness on my own.  The reality is that I keep bumping into things that cause pain.  What I need to do is to put down the torch and let it burn out while taking hold of God’s hand and letting Him lead the way.

True Value . . . and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life . . .1 Peter 3:7 

Have you ever watched the show on PBS where someone brings in an antique, and the appraiser talks about that item a little and then gives a value to that item?  Sometimes, the person is amazed at the unexpected value of the heirloom or greatly disappointed.  The truth is that value placed on an item is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for that item.

With Great Responsibility . . . 

Do you remember the line in Spiderman where Peter Parker is sitting in the car with his uncle, and his uncle says, “With great power, comes great responsibility”?  We all know that ordinary Peter Parker was given superhuman power with the bite of a radioactive spider.  With that power he rescued the innocent and defeated the likes of the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.

The last time I checked there are no super human beings.  There is no Superman or Spiderman.  Hate to break it to you, but superheroes are all the work of someone’s imagination.  (More)

There is a song playing on the Christian radio stations that is incredible.  It is straight on about our goal in life.
