Ready For Peace
I read your posting “Christian needs help.” I can’t help but notice the amount of times you used “I” in talking about your situation. I didn’t see once where you mentioned “God.” All too often we as Christians look to our own thoughts and experiences to solve situations. The truth of the matter is that God wants us to depend on Him. Is 50:10, 11 talks about those who choose to light their own torches and try to find their own way in the darkness. It doesn’t work. Let go of your torch – trying to figure out the situation on your own and in your own way. Take hold of God’s hand and let God work the situation out. Concentrate your efforts on doing all that you do in work to the glory of God (1 cor 10:31; Col 3:17). Every trial in your life – great or small – is an opportunity to step back from the situation and to allow God to work. Sometimes, He works through us and sometimes, He works through others. Regardless, God desires to receive all the glory due His name.
You mentioned that you struggle in your prayers. Here is something very simple that I do when I struggle with prayer and the situation that is at hand. I pray that God will help me trust Him and to leave my “torch” at His feet. Allow God to work. It is better that you be a tool God uses to glorify His own name than to hinder His work in someone else’s or your life.
It’s not much, but I hope it helps.
